So this is how the little life ruiners come out

21 Nov

It might look here like they’re naturals, but it isn’t true. They ski slow and have dirty tricks. The most potent of which starts with the little buggers complaining they are bakglatt. In other words, that their kick isn’t getting them anywhere, just sliding backwards.

So, the long-suffering progenitor grabs the little sprogling by the ankles, holds it upside down and chalks a lot of wax onto the base of their skis.

Then, in short order, they will tell you they klumper themselves. That is the term used to describe what happens when excessive wax makes snow accumulate under the ski. The devious little devils have this well-rehearsed and do it intentionally.

The happy news is there’s a newly Pope-ly approved way of saving your ski tours from such abominable horror. Not that anyone in this country really cares about the Pope. But maybe, exceptionally in this case, they should.
