Winterlike Easter

3 Apr

The “green man” has yet to show his face. Winter still holds sway over the Oslo forest. At least in some places. I took this picture today of a signpost deep in the Krokskogen area:

Not  too far off the mark compared with the winter of 2008. Here’s a shot of the same signpost from the 11th of March of that year found on the Internet:

Those who try to look smart by rattling on about the coincidence between Easter and pagan springtime festivals can stuff it. The snow we got every one of the last 3 nights has given winter some welcome days still to come!

Trip details:

  • Route: Skansebakken – Dammyra – Løvlia – Heggelia – Sørkedalen Skole
  • Temp: +1C to -2C heavy falling snow to sunshine.
  • Style: Skate.
  • Distance: 35km
