Rollerski nirvana

Nansenparken-Forneb_102889aThis is what rollerski nirvana looks like. This is a picture of the new Nansenparken in the Oslo suburb of Fornebu.

Nice coincidence that the park is named after Norway’s first skiing hero, Fridtjof Nansen, who crossed Greenland in 1888.

The park’s many lanes are covered in asphalt that’s silky smooth enough to favor comfortable cruising at ludicrous speed while soft enough to provide good ski pole spike grip.

The park makes a nice end point for trips starting at the Aker Brygge marina served by the 54 bus that stops close to my appartment.

But is the asphalt smooth enough to cushion your numerous falls?
